Renaming Aspartame?

I guess the name of Aspartame (more commonly known as the name brand NutraSweet) ARTIFICIAL sweetener is changing the name to "AminoSweet" and marketing it as a natural sweetener! Since Aspartame has been one of the ingredients on my do NOT eat list. I will be also watching out for "AminoSweet" when reading labels!

"In response to growing awareness about the dangers of artificial sweeteners, what does the manufacturer of one of the world's most notable artificial sweeteners do? Why, rename it and begin marketing it as natural, of course. This is precisely the strategy of Ajinomoto, maker of aspartame, which hopes to pull the wool over the eyes of the public with its rebranded version of aspartame, called "AminoSweet"." Read more about it here.

So why do you think they would change the name?

This is beyond sad, disappointing and downright immoral...

Dog poop is 'all natural' I don't want to eat it either!! The name is really going to get people. They are going to think that it is made from amino acids and is good for you!! argh!!!

Better get my educators, spread the word cap on... sooo sad and wrong!!

Thanks for sharing Tammie, it's good to know!

Another reason to avoid any labeling that says "natural" isn't it?
