How to make your own Taco Seasoning

I have been buying Taco, Mexican, Italian, and other seasoning blends for a while now.  Since I always look at labels and read ingredients, I noticed that I had most if not all the single spices these seasonings contained.  So to save me some money I'm going to start making my own.  It's super simple, I'm kicking myself that I didn't do this long ago.  From now on I'm buying single spices in bulk and mixing my own blends!  Today I'm posting a homemade taco seasoning mix!  Do you have a favorite seasoning mix  that you would like to share?  I want to find tried and true mixes that are Simple, Healthy, and of course Tasty!  I would love it if you would share yours with all of us!  After the recipe read the instructions and link your recipe below!

Make Your Own Taco Seasoning Mix
1/2 cup chili powder
1/2 cup cumin
1/2 cup oregano
1/2 garlic powder
1/4 cup onion powder
1/4 cup minced onion
1-4 Tablespoons cayenne pepper (depending on how spicy you want it)
4-6 Tablespoons sea salt
3 Tablespoons arrowroot powder (optional)

In a large bowl mix together all ingredients with a spoon.  Stores great in a wide mouth quart jar.  Be sure to label it so you know what's in it!  I also put a smaller amount in my empty spice jar so I could easily shake onto food while cooking.

Alright now it's your turn to share your favorite seasoning mix recipes!

I think most of us folks are still buying seasoning blends. BUT, you have, once again, inspired us to spread our healthy wings and make our own dad-gum seasoning mixes. ;)

You're the best!

P.S. Lovin' your mighty fancy pictures! I miss you!
